Baby Quilts x 3 from Wendy's Quilts and More

A few weeks ago my niece had a baby girl.  So of course I just had to make a quilt for the new baby.  




I decided to cut into a special piece of fabric I'd bought two years ago at our Symposium in Lower Hutt.  It was 

Homeward by Monika Forsberg for Anna Maria Horner Conservatory by Freespirit Fabrics.




But I didn't really do the maths first and I ended up with left over squares.  So I decided to make a little dolly quilt for the baby's almost two year old big sister.

A pretty baby quilt from Wendy's Quilts and More

One of my nieces has just had a baby so I made a pretty baby quilt for the baby. 



I used the "June" pattern from Amanda Jean Nyberg's book, "No Scrap Left Behind". I've had the book for a few years and have always wanted to try that pattern.  It felt good to be able to make if from fabrics I had on hand.

baby quilt finish from Making A Lather

 I have emptied a project box with this finish. I finished flannel #2 his week. It feels so good to move another UFo to done. I finished flannel #1 last week as part rainbow scrap challenge at so scrappy.


46x58- 7 yards of fabric

I found an old blog post about the pattern including a share it  of my copy of the pattern. It's a great pattern to use for a baby quilt and/or a donation quilt.

flannel quilts and a finish from Making A Lather

My ufo # 2 and #3 for the rainbow scrap challenge at so scrappy was 2 pink flannel baby quilts. I didn't know, when I opened the box, if I had just collected the fabric, or, had it cut for what I needed. I saw labels on the fabric, so I was excited to learn it was already cut and ready to sew.
